I don't think it had anything to do with being re-elected or not. Everything I've read about him is that he doesn't like the way politics are conducted today and decided he just didn't want to be a part of it anymore. Doesn't like to campaign, doesn't like to raise money, doesn't like the grip and grin. Obviously did not fall in love with the trappings of high political office. I think he's admirable.

I really think that there are other people like him. I think a lot of the "retirements" that we are seeing are people just fed up with not getting anything done.
