Back in the late 70's the dam area was a turning point for the Navy fighters out of Pensacola. It was not unusual for them to do flyby's at 1000 feet or less. The last few years seem to have been mostly the C130's out of Maxwell using the low altitude approaches for drop practice for the Mideast. Every now and then the guys out of Fort Rucker will also come this far north. It takes me back to 68 when the sound of low flyers was very welcome 13000 miles from here.
