I don't think the economy is "down" when it comes to sales at the Lake. The Forum serves as a great tool for a buyer to get a "feel" for the lake. The negative comments on the Lake Martin topics concerning  noise, water levels, restaurants, and the impact of boat traffic and  wake surfing are not conducive to a good marketing plan. Lake Martin is a great lake and that story needs to be told.
