I had... have... a friend who is like that. He's a veteran and I knew him when he was in the service. He turns on that d@mn stolen valor cr@p right in front of me. He KNOWS I know he's blowin' smoke. I have gently and obtusely reminded him that he is faking valor and history. He doesn't quit. Otherwise, I like him... he'd give you the shirt right off his back.

They do it because they get away with it? Inferiority complex? There's two reasons the POTUS gets away with it.
