I served in Baghdad for all of 2007. The young Americans there were nothing short of impressive. Off duty, they still had the mannerisms we see at the mall. But when the doo doo hits the fan... these boys and girls... well, they aim carefully... take responsibility for each other... do the "job" at hand very, very well.

Off duty - inane. On duty - intelligent, efficient, effective, motivated.
