I think it is a tactical error on the part of any Administration to fight these battles. Whether we agree with a particular broadcast or not, they serve a useful purpose -- to fuel debate -- much like the political columnists and the cartoonists and people like Twain in the past.
I guess I just wish that there were more that were writing. I miss the well written column and the resulting "letters to the Editor". When one writes, one has to think.

Yet, every Administration has it's little battles with the media. Bush had them too, and Nixon hated them -- Reagan learned how to use them.
