Why is everyone surprised when a restaurant around the lake closes? There is simply not enough business to support these places. The only ones that survive are the established places like Oscar's. Could you imagine trying to run a place selling food at an average price of $10 to $12 a plate and making only $2 to $3 a plate profit or $.50 - $.75 profit on a beer. You need huge volume to make a living and the volume is just not there on the lake year round.
