I have experimented with antennas in Sandy Creek Estates. First, all antennas are digital-capable if there is sufficient signal present. It does not have to be one that is sold as a "digital" antenna. I used a 30 yr. old vhf/uhf antenna in the attic pointed toward Montgomery (antennaweb can give you precise pointing angles) and with an amplifier...only received the three wsfa digitals, the 2 Fox20 channels, and 4 APTV digitals. I also mounted a 50 year old parabolic antenna outside but only 14' from ground level..again with amp..and was able to receive the nbc, fox, abc, and CW...occasionally, cbs would pop in and in unusual weather circumstances, the 4 digitals from the campus at Tuscaloosa...also pbs....in Manoy, not sure how Smith Mountain would impact you but if you are located behind the mountain, could be a big problem. Good luck!
