I think one only need to look around at the number of businesses that have gone under to figure out that things haven't improved. I don't think anyone has declared that the economy has recovered. Even Geitner says it will be a slow recovery.

Also doesn't surprise me that people would be upset with Obama. When ever the Presidency turns, people always hope that things will get better quickly, but they usually don't and therefore, people become pessimistic. It would have been the same no matter who became President.
