No, other than the butterfly vent on top. But, if you use a digital thermometer ($20) hanging inside ( then later with the brisket/butt for meat temp) you can get the smoker up to temp, place the meat, insert the thermometer, put the lid on and go watch Alabama and Texas fight for the title.
Crank up the heat during the last hour to toast the outside.
Good luck. Opinions are pretty cheap.
