Let's review:

1. Lotowner posted quotes from Thomas Jefferson and asked "how did he know". Presumably, Lotowner believes that the quotes can be applied to the current day.

2. Although TJ was a brilliant mind, he has not be credited as being a pychic so it is unlikely he had 2009-2010 specifically in mind when he wrote.

3. TJ's ideas and writings have been quoted, applied and expanded upon throughout the history of the US, so it is relatively easy to conclude that the problems/concerns have existed throughout the history of the US.

Or was it just your intention to try to be just a smarta$$?
