There are plenty of "down to earth" restaurants around. My comment to you is yes, I would like something different sometimes -- which includes something other than fried food and a salad that isn't just iceberg lettuce, in a casual setting.
I'm glad that there are restaurants that cater to people like you, but I would like a choice. I'm not saying that every restaurant has to be like that, but what is wrong with having a few that offer a choice?

And I think the comments you refer to reflect the mindset of a lot of us that live here. It's not a matter of not liking the lake -- it's not wanting to have to tolerate those that are inconsiderate. Just because it is rural or "traditional" doesn't mean we should have to tolerate inconsiderate. Running boats up and down the slough, burning that blows into someone else's windows -- those kinds of things are just inconsiderate.
