For my part, I regret that the bill isn't going to go far enough to address the problems and worry far more about allowing national health care policy to be directed by corporations rather than the government. True enough, government programs are never efficient, well-oiled machines. But Medicare is a good program, and crucial to the health of it's participants. A national Medicare-for-all program would mean that the 15% of uninsured Alabamians would be able to get decent healthcare. (In Texas, a full 25% of their people are uninsured). But for now, this much change is good. We are required to have insurance on our cars, why not on ourselves and our families?
