Rude, contrary to the truth forwarded by GF and Hound, a press conference does not make a promise kept. The administration exercises control over ALL of the agencies involved in the lease/permit/drill process, and any one of them can squash production. Bear in mind that the 34 advisors employed by the current administration are each long time professors of radical environmental programs without regard for consequence, although some number of that group may be inclined to support the newest initiative if the producers were gummint owned. Just this morning the EPA announced tighter co2 standards for the petroleum refineries. All this does is provide cover for SC Senator Graham, and other "moderates" like him, on the cap and tax bills.
