It would seem to me that the US Government and BP should have been working as a team from the beginning to plug the hole and minimize the impact. Thus, I would expect the two leaders to meet and discuss strategies and how the two could work together -- with BP taking the lead on plugging the hole and the Gov't lending a hand with shoreline protection efforts.

Instead we have a confrontational relationship that does nothing to help solve either problem. Just another example of the wrong-headedness of the current administration - more interested in their own political futures than what is best for the country.
