As the economy collapses, we in retirement will be happy with less.  And, as we will have increasingly more confiscated by the government and less return on our investments, we will spend less… return less to the economy.  More goods will be imported – there will less need for services (a la the European Union).  Government will grow.  The private sector will decline.

If medical care is available, it will be too hard to access… maybe even denied.   Baby-boomers will become… inconvenient.

We baby-boomers are now, for the most part, a huge herd of industrious and productive folks.  Infirmity and/or disillusionment will eventually force us into the retirement sector.  To replace us, there are not enough of Generation X (or Y or Z) who persevered in the studies of math, medicine, science, or engineering (Mostly they opted for law, advertizing, and business).  The rigorous disciplines will be farmed out (gratefully) to foreigners… whom we will also have to import.

Baby-boomers will become consumers rather than producers.

As we ants depart the tax base and deplete the stash of phony funds (Medicare, Social Security), there will be less and less to fund the entitled grasshoppers. The hungry grasshoppers will become indignant… then they will riot for their “fair share.”

We ignore history.  Behold:  The disregarded lesson of Greece (et al) to be replayed in Europe... and eventually on our own shore!

I CHALLENGE THE LIBERALS TO REFUTE THIS PREDICTION.

I CHALLENGE THE CONSERVATIVES TO PROPOSE WAYS TO PREVENT IT.
