The fireworks display is a glorious occasion best witnessed from the water in a boat in Kowaliga Bay. It is truly a spectacular sight. Hundreds of boats, spirits high, lots of lights.
My family stopped attending years ago due to the danger involved, not in motoring toward the Bay, but in trying to get home AFTER the fireworks stopped. Everybody attending throttles up at the end and heads home, creating huge wakes and rogue wakes from odd directions, not in dribbles but in mass. Shallow freeboard boats are especially in danger of being swamped.  Passengers being thrown out of boats that are in column formation is nightmare material. If you operate a boat large enough that you can ignore the wake problem, think about those people ahead of you who might be at risk.
Last year we attended AquaPaloosa, against my better judgement about safety. At the end of the show, we pulled into a cove and waited for a good 20 minutes for the traffic to clear before heading home. Worked OK.
I will not diss the fireworks party, because I went and enjoyed it, back when I was "Bullet Proof". Just wanted to pass along a warning to be SMART AFTER the Party. If you are the Captain, you are responsible for your passengers. Cover them.
