Not the band, but the bsld ones we are blessed with aroung the lake. If you enjoy watching them, here's a tip. LOOK UP!! Whenever I am on the water I spend a good amount of time looking at/for them. It is usually very easy to see them all over the lake. But yesterday, I got to watch an awesome specticle. I was coming up Manoy Creek riding close to shore looking for lost treasures when an adult eagle swooped down and grabbed a fish off my port beam. I watched him as he glided right off the water to the shoreline. He had to have landed somewhere because he never came out. I made a hard turn so I could see into the back of the slough and there it was sitting on some deadfall having a fish dinner.

My buddy was on a PWC and came over to watch. It took him a while to actually spot the eagle but once he did we drifted in closer. We were no more than 50-60ft away and watched for several minutes. That bird was TOTALLY into it's meal and was paying us no attention. Well, that is untill he dropped the fish and as he went down to retrieve it he spotted us and decided were too close for comfort. Watching him fly by us at about 20ft was awesome. Unfortunately I had not taken my camera with me yesterday. A mistake I will not make again. We did get a couple of pics on a camera phone though. When I get a copy I will post them.

Bottom line. When you are out on the water pay attention to your surroundings and you just might see wildlife at it's best.
