The HOBOs lakefront homes list shows 7,840 homes, condos, and individually owned lots. Subtract about 100 non-lakefront homes in Stillwaters and the net result will be around 7,700. Tallapoosa County has about 6,000, Elmore 1,100 est., and Coosa 500-600. About 35% of the homes receive their tax bill at their lake address--a good sign that they probably live on the lake full time. Tallapoosa County receives 45-50% of all its property tax revenue from lake front homes. Elmore County, about 1/6 of revenue for entire county comes from lakefront homes. Just a few stats.
