Yes, they can.  But, they won’t.  Obama's patrons have the power to keep such a question at bay.  

This is actually a question deserving a clear answer.  Instead, individuals, who with good and clear reasons, who ask this question, are assigned the derogatory name, “birthers”.  It is such a simple answer… a simple proof.  If the answer is unambiguous, then why is it not forthcoming.

 

From the Constitution:

 

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President…

 

There is nothing unambiguous about this.  So why not simply answer the question?  Provide the official document.   As a condition of employment, I am required to have my credentials vetted.  I ask nothing more excessive of my President.
