Olberman, his voice, his appearance, his views, his circular logic, his presentation, his countdown, his very being, are each and all an affront to rational thinking producer (non parasite) types. His appeal rest exclusively with the crowd that prefers their hands in the pockets of others, and GF. That said, here are my thoughts on barrys failure to raise taxes, and WHY it was so important to him, Olberman, and the rest of their lemmings. Part of it is just a couple of loose wing nuts rolling around in my head. Part of the answer can be found, using the link you provided, in an article just below the rant by Olberman.

Some other part can be found with a Thomas Sowell column written earlier this week about tax rate increases and resulting decline in Treasury revenue as a result. He focused on the "rich", and their ability to shelter income. He went on to say that last time this took place, the fed treasury contributions, by these rich, fell sharply as they moved to tax free state and muni's. Well, my thinking is "strategy" of the soros hand puppet, aka dictator in training pants, is again, raise the tax rates on the upper income earners, make the state and municipal tax free bonds more attractive, and for a short period of time, artificially prop up the state and local entities. More interest in the bonds could mean lower yields, and lower interest expense. Take it from there, tie in commitments to the unions, and union pensions, states continued ability to borrow, and ultimately, a plan to screw the bond holders, again. They had soooo much fun when they did it with GM, and next time, they get to crash the dollar too.
