I was sitting at a table with wife at my 40th high school reunion. I could't take my eyes off the very drunk and pathetic woman sitting all alone downing drink after drink at a table across the room.

My wife noticed my stare and asked "Do you know that woman?"

"Well, yes I do" I admitted, "she is my old high school girl friend. We dated for a couple of years. I broke up with her when I left home for college. I've been told she started drinking right after our split and she hasn't been sober since."

My wife shook her head "Golly, it's hard to imagine anybody celebrating that long."
