I have never defended this kind of behavior of an elected official. Do I think that people's personal life should be public fodder -- no, I don't. Because I personally don't care whether they chose to cheat on their wives or not. That's between them and their wife.
But, when you stand on the high moral ground in public, you better be standing very, very securely. I'm personally very tired of Republicans taking the high moral tone of family values when their behavior is indicative of a very different set of moral principles. BTW, not to mix threads, but don't forget that Newt in his day also cheated on his wife.

I personally find this man's behavior very sad. Did he not think this would be made public??? Nothing sadder than a middle aged man making a fool of himself in public. I hope his wife is smart enough to dump the fool.
