There is an article floating around somewhere and I think it was on the local Bham news that they had received permission to raise Harris above standard levels and also that they had requested to raise Logan Martin and a couple of others. It did not say if they had received approval for us. It also says it only requested 1 ft...... Maybe we will get a good saoking in March......
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Power has received federal approval to temporarily boost water storage at Harris Lake by one foot amid dry weather conditions.
The utility also requested to raise the current levels at Weiss Lake and Logan Martin Lake by an additional foot.
The company said the actions are aimed at conserving water supplies on Alabama Power reservoirs as the dry conditions intensify.
It comes after the utility received approval to reduce by 10% the release of water from hydroelectric dams on the Coosa and Tallapoosa rivers to conserve water.
