First of all, there seem to be a lot of edits in this man's rant.
Second of all, I can't help but wonder if Niall Ferguson had visions of a political appointment that didn't materialize. As far as I can tell, he is just as a__ with an opinion.
The truth is that it is too early to tell whether Obama "failed" in Egypt. We did not orchestrate the uprising in Egypt and it is still playing out. The only failure I can see if that the Administration commented at all on a rapidly evolving situation. And maybe still another failure of our intelligence community. But, Congress is going to cut those jobs anyway, aren't they?
