I wonder if there is a concern about quality control with compounding pharmacies doing their own compounds that drove the FDA to this? It would be interesting to see what reports and documentation was provided to the FDA for review.

But, as you describe the situation, the face of this isn't good. Makes one wonder what role lobbyists played in this decision...

One of my Drs. in VA told me that he thought that the FDA does a lot of knee jerk reactions. He worked with a couple of drug companies coming up with new medications, so I assumed his impression was informed.
