Painting my hives today. My bees will arrive April 20th at the latest. I buy my equipment from Brushy Mountain. Getting used equipment is like getting used cars. You just took over someone elses problems. The disease problem comes from using used equipment. Years ago it was ok but now we need to make sure we are providing a disease free home to our little friends. With the loss of Mr. J. B. Shockley I decided to start with 2 hives and double each year to 20 or so. I have attended 1 class at Auburn and I am half way through a 4 day class online right now. I have some old timers that are going to help me set my bees when the arrive. Before you go through the trouble of getting equipment (specially if you buy it) make sure you have access to a package of bees. They are in short supply.

  I would love to visit or talk to anyone that has a few hives out there...
