To some extent I think they are. It appears me that at least some parts of the Republican representation is refusing to negotiate. But, I'm not letting the Democrats off the hook either.

I'd like to see them all sit in a room. Someone needs to list that which they agree on, that which they partially agree on, and then the things that they can't agree on at all.
Then they need to start a process of negotiation. It is not easy, but it can't be impossible. I think the sound bite mindset is keeping them from even trying.
People with major disagreements sit down every day and make things work. Why can't they?
