I don't know about all of that. I do know a lot of cities wanted a shuttle and didn't get one because there weren't enough to go around. And maybe the fact that they do have the Space Center was a reason that they didn't get one. Maryland has the Goddard Space Center and they didn't get one either.

And Obama is the President -- he outranks Perry by a mile - and it was Perry that wanted the meeting, not Obama... hence Perry goes where Obama can meet with him. The man has a schedule, and a lot of people want some of his time. When you want to meet with your boss, does he set the time and location or do you, when it's you asking for the meeting?

I guess you haven't heard the addage about when you take someone's money you give them the right to "interfere", i.e. give you advice and direction. If States don't want federal interference, then they need to develop their own resources for disasters, such as wildfires that are a recurring problem in that state.

And I'm wondering what y'all think that FEMA brings to the table that is so important. Didn't we see enough of their incompetence during Katrina?

Since when is it that you can bad mouth someone and refuse to support them and still expect them to help you? Some of the governors engage their mouths before thinking things through. At the end of the day, it's all political. Always been that way, always will be that way.
