I agree with that. At least he put forth a plan and as I had said on many occasions it is something to form the basis of a discussion. You are right that most pols these days won't take any political risk at all. Which in my mind always begs the question as to why they are really there in the first place.

You know, I always feel that despite party differences, at the end of the day we are in fundamental agreement as Americans and our pols should build on those things we agree upon and take up debate on how to solve the challenges. But I fear that we have gotten to the point in this country where we are so polarized that no one will admit that they agree on anything or will be seen as willing to compromise the least little bit for fear that they won't be re-elected by their base. It's pitiful.
