I think Newt is like a lot of politicians that thrive on the power of political office. And I have no doubt he believes he would be the best choice for President. As I said, he is a smart man with lots of good ideas and this turn of events is hard for me to comprehend if he really wants the nomination. Apparently he is making the rounds of the talk shows as are his boosters but I think to no avail. One thing about being as plain spoken as him is that he loses the cover of ambiguity, tken out of context, etc. I know exactly what he meant and it disqualifies him in my view......although he was never my guy anyway so its easy for me to say.
