While driving down a 12' wide single lane country road in the lake district of England last year, my wife and I saw a sign reading "caution, motorists may encounter oncoming vehicles in the center of the road"...well duh! on the motorway we saw a typically English (polite) sign "motorists are cautioned in advance that they may be subjected to travel delays ahead due to an ongoing maintenance works programme". And, a friend saw a sign in the men's loo at a Scottish golf club grill reading..."The management kindly requests that golfers refrain from washing their balls in this lavatory"!

I love the UK!!
