The flow of the Coosa River is dictated by the Corp of Engineers and not Alabama Power. The LMLPA is actively involved with the water levels of Logan Martin Lake. Georgia is making repeated attempts to divert water from the Etowah basin into Atlanta and not returning to the same basin, this is called cross boundry transfer in which the Coosa River may show a reduce water flow. We have been in negotiations with the the corp plus continuous correspondance with FERC and to federal, state and local governments. We are in a drought situation and until we can significant rainfall in the northern part of Alabama and in North Georgia it will continue. It is refreshing that individuals such as yourself are concerned however it would be even better if you joined the LMLPA because there is strength in numbers.
