I don't hear anyone mentioning the liability of camping on private property. One one hand, if the camper were injured on private property that was not a designated for camping, APCO could be liable and sued. On the same hand, if the camper injured the property (not an insignificant issue with it being so dry and the chance of starting a fire) and the camper, provided APCO could find them, would be liable.

While one would like to think that campers would be responsible for cleaning up after themselves, I'm sure any campground owner would tell you that this isn't always the case. I don't want our lake shorelines trashed up, do you? And I don't want them dumping their waste in our lake either.

I don't see where anyone is trying to exclude anyone from enjoying the lake, but I don't see anything wrong with limiting camping to designated campgrounds that have sanitary facilities and someone responsible to keep it cleaned up.
