Have been reading some very pointed pieces from the left and the right about how this one statement could be the undoing of Oblamer. He seems almost hellbent on making his administration Carter's 2nd term even to the point of blaming the American people. I can already see the ads. "Barack Obama thinks its the American people's fault. We are soft. We have lost our competitive edge. C'mon Mr. Obama, can't you for once take responsibility for your own actions and the disastrous results? Don't let Barack Obama blame you for his problems. By the way, we all thought it was Bush's fault......now its ours?!?!? Barack Obama, hopeless and change for the worse!"

Devastating. Regardless of how soft Americans have become they don't like being insulted by their President. Like the reaction of the African American community to his insulting "take off your slippers" speech, most Americans will not appreciate his blame game.
