I agree that he broke laws and had a severe failure of judgement. However, in his book he proposes changes that would change ability to lobby the Hill. Also a big supporter of term limits; and to stopping the revolving door of people leaving the Hill to work for Lobbyists.
I guess I am not as harsh in my view of him as some other people might be. Washington is an extremely competitive environment (there are a lot of people that would walk over their mother to get 5 minutes of face time with the "power"), and for someone that is an extremely competitive personality, it wouldn't be too hard to lose their way. And in order for him or anyone else to be a successful lobbyist, there have to be those elected officials that are willing to sell themselves.
