This isn't limited to Lake Martin, but I know a lot of people that read this forum have dogs.

Just read an article that said that there have been numerous FDA reports that chicken jerky strips are linked to mysterious illness in dogs, which in some cases have been fatal. The jerky treats are being made in China. The FDA has not been able to identify specifically which ingredients are causing the problems.

I just checked the bag of jerky treats I have on hand and sure enough, in small print it says "made in China". Those of you that recall the pet food scare of a few years ago will remember that the Chinese have a habit of adding strange ingredients to pet food or ingredients in pet food produced there. Don't assume just because you buy a national brand or a product labeled "high quality" that there isn't anything from China in there.
