I don't think it has anything to do with race. This was a major lack of judgement that backfired, and ended up being made public. I wonder why Administrations never figure out that trying to cover this stuff up never works?

They probably sealed the records because they don't want the American people to see how stupid and ill conceived the whole thing was.

This kind of stuff happens in almost every administration. Sometimes it fails and blows up, sometimes it doesn't. My belief has always been that if you really knew what was going on in the world on any given day, you'd be appalled or scared to death, so it's better that you don't know.
