While your views have a lot of merit I think there is one point that makes it a little different. If they pass the voter ID law it would apply to everyone in the general election, both democrats and republicans. How each party selects their leader would be at their own peril. Politicans in todays world do not hold onto priciple but go how the wind is blowing. They are more interested in remaining in office than what is best for the country.
