We are part timers as well. I do not have heated indoor storage, I winterize the boat - I/O - usually around Thanksgiving, so generally just charge the battery during the winter. I CAN dump it in the water if I really want to, but it would cost me a couple of hours to re-winterize or a trip to Cathouse. I have thought about the heater route, but do not have enough confidence to take the chance of losing a heater (or incandescent light bulb), or tripping a GFCI while we are not there.

I will take out the Waverunner during the winter, but keep it burped after I put it on the dock or trailer - run it dry for about ten seconds, let it cool down, repeat - and I store it on the trailer with the bow up and the rideplate on the concrete.
