jaybird, you are not alone in thinking this way and on the surface it is of course very appealing to pull out of these conflicts. But all that changed on September 11 when the Islamofascists attacked us. This is nothing new and if you read the history books they are rife with examples of when not engaging the enemy and taking an isolationist approach as Ron Paul advocates (regardless of what his website says) dooms you to repeat history....the bad kind of history. It is naive to the maximum to believe that if we leave Iraq and Afghanistan and let Iran develop nuclear weapons that none of this will impact us in the future. It will and millions of Americans will pay the price. I just can't agree that this is the right thing to do.

The absolutely last thing we can afford to do is to sit back and allow Islamofascists to operate freely which will mean for certain they would obtain WMD (chemical, biological and nuclear) and if you think they won't use it you are as deluded as Ron Paul but fortunately since you are not running for President nowhere near as dangerous.

Ron Paul has a lot of good things to say on domestic fiscal issues and frankly his strength in the primary process will hopefully result in some of that good thinking filter through to the GOP platform. I suspect his bewildering support of Romney versus the other candidates is because he believes Romney will be the nominee and he wants to have a prime time speaking slot at the convention. As long as he stays on domestic issues I think he can add something to the discussion. But he will not be the nominee...........
