Usually want to change an impeller begining of every season, the impeller is a maintence item that can cause serious heartache if it fails. Bellows on the other are more of a visual check, if they appear to be cracking or dry rotten then its time. Merc offers a complete kit to handle this problem including gaskets and a gimbal bearing.
