It has become quite evident that those of us on the lake who believe that Aquapalooza was the best event of the summer, can no longer, and should no longer rely on Russell Marine to provide us with an on water summer concert.

And since the re-licensing of the damn will soon be a thing of the past, leaving both the HOBO's and LMRA with a large amount of time to pursue other interests I suggest that they pursue the following:

Apco is required to provide certain lands on the lake for the enjoyment of the general public, that is why we have DARE park and other facilities.  One of these enjoyment areas could be an amphitheater that faces the water. It could be used for annual summer concerts and on off weekends as a place for local bands to display their talents. There could be a dance pavilion, much like those that use to be at Wind Creek Park, back in the day.  Boaters could pull up on weekend nights and listen to the music or dance.

Each year there could be two major concerts (AQUAPALOOZAS)  one sponsored by HOBO'S  and the other sponsored by LMRA.  This could become a competition to see which organization could provide the best talent and concert.

There are many places that the power company owns that could be put to this use.  If they own the island just out from DARE park,  a stage facing up river toward Wind Creek would be a great venue.  It is a relatively underdeveloped area of the lake that is wide open and containes few if any hazards.  This would require some sort of ferry but that should not be difficult.

I am sure that there are other areas also. And there would be other organizations that would want to use the facility for concerts or events such as national PWC competitions, SUP races, etc.
