Actually WW, Obama's math is looking pretty good. In 2008 Obama carried the following states that Kerry lost in 2004...Nev, Col, NM, Fla, Va, Ohio, Iowa, NC, and Ind. If Obama carries only the states Kerry took in 2004 (certainly not unreasonable to expect) he has 245 electoral votes. If he can pick off Fla he is elected, If he can take Ohio + Col he's elected, if he can combine Va, Col and Nev he's elected, if he can get Col, NM, Nev and Iowa he's elected, any number of other of combinations and he's elected.
