The lake is full of threadfin shad. No need to stock them. Fertilizing--Way the heck too costly. Too much inflow of water to control. Brackish water--Low DO. (disolved oxygen) Stripers--One reason they were added, besides recreation and tourism, was supposed to be to help control the shad. Spot-tail minnows everywhere, also forage fish.
Stripers have had an effect on other species in the lake. One of my suppositions is that the crappie population has been affected by them.
BTW, from my previous posts, you can tell that I'm not a fan of stripe bass.
