I have been to a couple of meetings and while the board may be slowly changing over to people more with our views in mind I am not sure if that is the correct route.

Last year someone up river discovered a petition to APCO for consistent water flows downstream from us for canoing or something similar so they had adequate water for their "club". He made a push for us to sign a similar petition but I am pretty sure it was taken with the same seriousness that APCO is going to do anything positive for our lake any given day.

Anyway I believe the only way we will ever be able to get APCO to recognize LM as anything other than a stepchild is to get local government involved. There are two counties and several cities that receive revenue from lake use and when the lake is down only the ones with a dedication to the lake will show up. The casual weekender will see the low waters and go to a lake that has sufficient water for their familis to play in.

Most that have been here for years have just learned to live with the APCO's treatment of our lake and make do. Even when you get APCO's ear at a meeeting to discuss the concerns they will have a laundry list of escusses as to why the level is or needs to be kept at the level it is. Sounds like our current government.

Until we get our local government and businesses making noise about the lost revenue from low water levels nothing will really every change..... Because it does not have to..... we are just a bunch of property owners whining..... and what are we going to do.... Quit APCO.

I will support any effort any group would venture to take but anything unorganized without business and politicians is basically P***ing in the wind. Just my opinion

Thoughts anyone?
