A former regular poster laid out in detail the methods bureaucrats employed when dealing with their citizen/subjects. That same OTF contributor never acknowledged the reason for the existance of the NSA, while we enjoy 2 cabinet bureaucracies in State and Defense. My understanding is that administrations recognize the entrenched public servants often times have, and work, agendas that are in opposition to both the Presdident and Congress. Now, if there is a shred of truth in that statement of understanding, just cutting the head off the monster is not nearly enough. These out of control departments and agencies must be abolished. We must demand clear and concise law from our representatives, and insist that they not abdicate the associated responsibility by shifting regulation writing to the unelected, unaccountable, yet all powerful career bureaucrats with their own agendas. We should demand the next congress review every law passed over the last 20 years, and rescind each that didn't work as planned.
