That's how mine is, water is 10 feet from the Rif Raf & sea wall and in the morning the water is clear but during the days after the boats get going it is muddy a good 20 feet out from the water line. I think it just settles back in the same place that night because there is not a current where I am but if you were on the main channel where there is a current it could take it downstream.
