When you served, I am sure you served with gays without knowing it. Now, they can come out and serve so you would know who to avoid. It would be interesting if those you served with who were gay emailed you to let you know and how you would handle it. While I have no problem associating with gays, I have only witnessed two kissing one time and I had and still have a hard time accepting it.

As to telling your dad, brother, or son you love them is so different than trying to associate it to your not accepting gay guys. You need to get over it and stop associating the word love with sex. It's Fathers Day, call your Dad and tell him you have always respected him but you love him too and regret you waited this long to tell him.

I lost my Dad a few years ago and expected each time I saw him to be the last as he was bed ridden so I always held his hand and said Dad....always remember I love you. I could never bring myself to just say good bye.
