Other than major Christian holidays, Martini Day is the closest thing to nirvana for an expert like myself. Sadly, I am in the UK during this most holy of holy secular days (an oxymoron I know) so I opted to hoist a pint of bitter in honor of the day.

As for the comments about martinis and the common man, with the advent of the vodka martini, it became accessible to even the lowliest of imbibers and is no longer the drink of the wealthy and James Bond enthusiasts.
